old Danger Museum notice || as old as Feb 2004.

Sorry for cross posting. (but please help forward to Dear Friends of Danger
Museum)

Yes! Dear friends, I bring you sad news. The Singapore Danger Museum Branch
and office in Hindoo Road will be gone! This is so sad news for the team in
Singapore as Danger Museum and the people here.

Why? Some of you might ask. As you might know that Singapore has not
performed well economically over the past year. The team in Danger Museum
in Singapore has been struggling to get funding to maintain the space. With
economy on the downturn and SARS in the last year, we have found it
extremely difficult and straining. Being experimental has not helped, much
less being a “project-based” initiative.

Only last November, we broke news to our close friends about the
possibility of DM’s office closing down. After a long series of discussion
and meetings with the team and friends, we decided it was the best way for
the museum. As we were preparing to wind down our operations, we were hit
by news of the Bird Flu crisis. This has been terrible news as we were
expecting peaceful and healthy times for the state and the museum as we
wind down. With flu-free chicken prices rising now, we found we cannot wait
any longer and decided to stop our operations immediately.

Thus, I bid farewell to our beloved Danger Museum’s Hindoo Road space, the
wonderful team from 2001-2003 and the beautiful people who have supported
us. As an old chapter closes, a new one will surely be starting. A new
strategy and new phase will … …

The museum will be hibernating from 1st Feb 2004 until the Singapore
economy picks up.

Yours with love,
Tien
