OPEN * Meal: arts community. (17 march 2011)

This Thursday is our 3rd installment of OPEN * Meal this Thursday 7-9pm. So if
you are troubled with some arts related problems.

We have a volunteer from the arts comm who will sit in to listen and advice on
any problems related to the arts.

Meanwhile, everyone here in the arts comm can help spread the word.

Then let's see what this service can take us to.

This week,  Tay Tong, Managing Director of Theatreworks will be sitting in to listen and advice on any problems related to the arts. (more on Tay Tong, see  - http://indepartspacestraining2007.wordpress.com/trainers/tay-tong/

But hey, the past few weeks we had a few email asking
for the volunteer to contact them individually. Basically, their volunteer
services are for people who walk in not door to door.

Thanks. If you are not sure of the direction please call us at: 63967980

* About OPEN * Meal: Arts Community

Starting for the month of March, Every Thursday night from 7-9pm for the month
of March at food #03 (109, Rowell Road, telephone: 6396 7980)

We will have a volunteer from arts comm to sit in, advice or listen - anyone
from the arts community can come in to talk about any problems or ideas.

How did it come about?
Basically, the premise of the idea came from two experiences. One was when I was
in Germany, my guest picked up a hitchhiking German carpenter guildsmen
(Zimmerman) - trained in a traditional carpentry where he must travel around and
offer his services and work for food, boarding and cost of travel).

They told me of pubs in Germany which offered boarding and meals for the
guildsmen in a pay-it-forward system where the first meal and boarding was paid
forward by a guildsmen long ago and since then every meal and boarding was paid
for by the previous guildsmen.

2nd experience came about when a peer from Cat Welfare Society (CWS) who
informed their volunteers or members that someone from CWS would sit in every
thursday at Food #03 evening to chat or give advice. Similar services were also
offered by Chan Ming + Alvin from MIC Human Aid, who offered advice on
humanitarian services.

So I thought, I would offer the first meal and drinks for the OPEN * Meal: arts
community.

We will have a volunteer from arts comm to sit in, advice or listen - anyone
from the arts comm can come in to talk about any problems or ideas.

Arts Comm members who come to OPEN * Meal will have a 20% off for their meals or
drinks.
