Post-Museum Post (2 Jan 2012): Outpost 5: 2nd Day at Bukit Brown & Fairtrade Instant Freezedried Satchets

Dear friend,

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you.

We would like to invite you this coming Monday to join us at our Outpost 5 at Bukit Brown where there will be a guided tour led by Tan Hang Chong and the People's painting station where you can paint in the serene environment of Bukit Brown.

Meanwhile, if you are coming and wish to collect the cafe direct products or any of our products, merchandise, artworks and projects, do let us know so that we can bring it there.

Lastly, we are openly looking for volunteers, opportunities and collaborations to further our cultural work. Do feel free to get in touch if you are interested.

So may all your dreams and wishes come true in 2012.

Regards,
Woon Tien Wei.

3. Ongoing: SOS Bukit Brown Petition

We are supporting this petition which call upon the Singapore Government to fully reconsider its development plans for Bukit Brown Cemetery. We believe that building a road through the cemetery in 2012 marks the first step towards the destruction of the entire area. We thus urge the government to save Bukit Brown 100%.

Bukit Brown is an invaluable historical site for a young nation seeking to define itself.
Bukit Brown is a necessary green lung and wildlife sanctuary for a sustainable city.
Bukit Brown can become a heritage park and public space enjoyed by all Singaporeans and visitors.

If Bukit Brown means this much to you, please sign our petition and get as many people - friends, family and colleagues - to sign it too. We aim to collect 100,000 names - one for each grave in Bukit Brown Cemetery!

4. Work in progress: Server Foundation: Indexes.

A research project by Woon Tien Wei and Server Foundation
which indexes the activities of Post-Museum and
shows the connections between its ideology and activities.
The project offers a 'compression' of these
connections in the form of 'indexes' and is
disseminated virtually through its website [http://server-foundation.org/indexes/], Twitter [http://twitter.com/#!/postmuseum]
This project is the most
comprehensive model of representation of the collective work
of Post-Museum and uses a collection of materials from
Post-Museum and its community to create an artistic work
which could be presented online and offline. This proposes a
new method and strategy of art making in Singapore's
Renaissance.
