Spaces for the Living: A Discussion on Bukit Brown Cemetery
My critics have commented that I have inserted completely unrelated footages in this sound recording. Sorry about that but it seems that I got carried away with trying too hard to be creative with windows movie maker and google image.
Well, the real point in this video is to share with people who did not manage to listen to the speakers at the symposium organised by the Heritage Society. In many ways, I am glad that Heritage Society got this panel together and it was great to see a full 'house' attendance.
It shows that there were many people out there who are really interested in the future of the Bukit Brown Cemetery (BBC). After visiting the BBC, I am convinced that this is an important site for Singapore and we should preserve it for future generations. Like many people, I believe that this site should be kept and no roads, no development on this site please.
This clip is the first part of the symposium. It is a bootleg of it so it is not official but this is not for sale but a way for people to participate in the dialogue and to allow people to build on the perspectives shared in that room (in the Asian Civilization Museum).
More clips will be uploaded, I promise to be less creative with the video.
Meanwhile, please spread the word and share the video. Dialogue with your friends, network, family... about the issues of the 'future' of BBC. With more understanding of BBC, we can see the value of this space and u-turn the development plans of BBC.
Thanks.
