Tonight (22 Feb), we'll be having a talk and demo session at the Central Public Library, so come listen to our co-organiser Michelle Lim share about our experience firing the dragon kiln and running the festival. Next Sat (2 Mar), there'll be a Dragon Kilns symposium and exhibition held in NTU, and the Sat after next (9 Mar), we'll be opening our Awaken the Dragon exhibition in the National Museum of Singapore.

After the Awaken the Dragon Festival, which featured the historic firing of the entire 42m Guan Huat Dragon Kiln, we present a post-event talk on dragon kilns, some samples of works that came out of the recent firing and a demonstration.

Nanyang Technological University’s University Scholars Program, in collaboration with the NTU Museum, presents a symposium and two exhibitions on the topic of the Dragon Kilns. These events are designed to serve as an exposure to the significance of this aspect of Singaporean history with particular focus on Singapore’s last two remaining Dragon Kilns. Speakers are AP Kwok Kian Woon, Mrs Pamelia Lee, Ian Jones (Australia), Prof. John Miksic and Prof Chen Chou Liou (Taiwan).

Awaken the Dragon Festival 2013: The Exhibition is the last phase of the Festival. The Exhibition showcases a sculpture comprising the 3,000 artworks which were created by people from all over Singapore in workshops held since August 2012 and which were subsequently fired in the Guan Huat dragon kiln in January. Join us at 2pm on 9 Mar for our opening reception!
