an adventure out - Mun San Fook Tuck Chee temple

So Jen and I managed to wake up one Saturday morning to go for this tour on Mun San Fook Tuck Chee Temple (Sims Drive) that Yik Han led.

I am impressed with his passion, interest in 'all things taoist temples'. Knowing that quite number of Brownies would also go to this tour, it would be great to be able to meet them and catch up.

The special thing about this temple is the 'fire' dragon dance that they do once a year. If I remember correctly, they are the only temple that does this and this tradition is really quite rare.

The 'fire' dragon is made up of ropes and joss sticks.

Some pictures of previous committee.
We go into their office to take a look.

Close up of the committee.
Then Yik Han bring us a walk around the streets where we got to see some of the remnants of old houses that would resemble the kind of houses during the days when the temple was formed.
And of course some of the food stalls that would have operated for a long time. We had some pao and then came to hawker center for a break.

Well, we found out that the fate of the temple is not very clear. Is this temple standing in the way of 'progress'?

Here is a video I shot on this day.

Next, here is another link I found that would make my sketchy experience look even sketchier. But Lim Ching Yee does a much better telling you more about the temple.
