Well, it is a surprised to receive news today about the new electoral boundaries today. Below is a very long report. For the record (not sure if I have a chance to analyse this article below).
Elections is a time that politicians present their ideals and vision of Singapore to its people. It is also another opportunity for those that are excluded to establish their identity and getting their voice legitimised and heard.
People get angry at this Gerrymandering (giving the incumbent that political advantage) because we like fairness. That's my interpretation. We want to see clean and fair politics - not waste time thinking only about running housing estates.
Why change electoral boundaries? Are the PAP afraid that the ground is not sweet enough? No Lah, Because the incumbent can and has every intention of staying in power.
There is then a Cooling-Off Day, which falls on the eve of Polling Day when voters cast their ballots.
