awake and awake

A day, nice to have Jen coming along when I went out today.

She is going to Boston on Friday and going to miss her and so many work things for her to catch up these few days before she go. I feel nervous. ALmost like I am flying. My support pillar & love is gone for a week.

Now, I am editing the first episode of Food #03 Vodcast. A new vodcast and i am having lots of fun with it. I am also packing my room so that mum will kinda stop nagging at me before she returns from Perth.

As usual, I am so sensitive with the dust that I got rashes again!

excited!

as usual, I am getting excited with some new ideas... that's hanging in my head!

There are some new products which came into the Food #03 shop. want to mention that so far this 'version' of shop is so far the most successful. Think we actually sell things through the shop and manage to display some of the rare stuff to our audience who have came to Post-Museum and Food #03.

ok, excited. I am thinking of painting and sculpting and some performance pieces. Video work as well.

Keen to meet some of the new volunteers and interns...

This week has been great.. meeting all these people and it seems that there are some really interesting people to connect!

Ooh, wondering if people are interest to barter their services for Food from Food #03.
Anyone out there?

Also, trying to get the Fairtrade / Soup kitchen / community campaign going.

Rambling on and on!

updates ! 14 nov 2008.

Been playing with a lot of social media.

Eg. like playlist of youtube, of course like live recording with webcam on Facebook.

Packed my stuff again today. Always finding something fascinating. NEver cease to amaze me, simple stuff I end up collecting.

Had a really nice chat with Shao Han today, invited him to the study group (cross disciplinary study group). That should take off sometime this week.

Also revamped the food #03 website. Trying out Joomla, CMS system and learning the tricks to it. Actually a good system but there is quite a bit of troubleshooing involved. So got to learn more about that.

Should be uploading some new videos and try to get it going. Maybe Get Madelyn to edit some videos for me.

suspect of a conspiracy of Tourism industry!

While trying to get the word out for Food #03 and Post-Museum,
I found that it is not a 'free-information' zone.

Sad to find out about that. In fact, that means that tourists are trapped within the system of evil consumer network.

There should be free networks which promote fairly and in a transparent way.

Terrible, but I will still try to probe into the system of distributing information and see how that can work.

listings costs - aAAArrgg

I was checking out the listings / directory websites.

STrangely, it seems that Singapore Expat and a couple of them needs to pay to get on the listings.

Someone's got to pay for these services but surely, it cannot just be the people selling things?

That simply means that the list of available shops to buy things from, restaurants to eat at -- is limited to those who have budget to 'list' (more like advertisting).

IT should be clear that the list contains people who pay to be listed. Therefore not based on quality of what they are selling.

I am an die-hard for "information should be free". So these listing people should really not make people pay for listings and find another revenue model.

Should we stand for something?

Of course, we should.

Was reading balakrishnan comments on Simon Birch killing of pig artwork.

And the critique of Bridget (director of NAfa gallerY) and how there was no further comments on Birch's work.

At least she should defend the work according to her belief. Sadly, she only responded once in the papers and nothing else - in fact, leaving it at 'no comment'.

Such a pity, it was a great opportunity for the public to understand more about art.

Wasted chance, lah.

Seriously, this work doesn't deserve such response but it still did. That is how art provokes, I suppose.

Write in to protest the iraq war - make your stand - fight for what u believe in ...

I hope there is more pro-active people out there. They should get together. AFterall, it is what we stand for which makes meaning in this world.

I am at this stage keen to make this social enterprise work - it is an experiment to see if socially conscious effort can survive. Can the people support an enterprise like Post-Museum which wants to put culture in people's lives?

Can Food #03, who wants to provide a platform for change of business practices and conscious consumerism work in a ultra-practical society in Singapore? Both these projects are driven by utopian ideas which are developed in my cultural practice.

This is a call for change. All the best.

so we moved on.

Been so busy with research, reading and Food #03 and P-M stuff.

Here are some pictures... from Food #03. Fun times here. We are cleaning up the cafe.

Food #03 is a project for Post-Museum. A kind of gift for Post-Museum. It is really nice to have so many people supporting P-M through their efforts. In whatever way.

Anyhow. Here goes. More posting in near future because the tough part of the work is done!

Hey it works!

GAM BETEI. FOOD #03 is really tough to get going.

Licensing and working on such a level is really challenging. But I believe in it and it is what is neccessary at this stage for the art scene and the development of my practice.

The image of the schedule beautiful. It makes me think of time management and how I use a different set of skills to make this work.

ok, gtg. The page is linked to my yahoo auction booth - I am consolidating my resources and bringing the focus into one project like Food #03 and how that links up with the other stuff that's going on.
