Dear friends, We are now counting down the last 3 days of our artwork Bukit Brown Index #132: Triptych of the Unseen at Singapore Biennale! Initially commissioned by The Substation in 2018 for their exhibition Deathsong, this work features an almost life-size traditional Chinese opera stage, rows of red chairs including those for the ghost audiences, and Virtual Reality performances by 3 local dancers on the different perspectives of an activist, a bureaucrat and a female ghost. For SB2019, we have expanded the back stage to include an installation of archival material made in the traditional technique of paper offerings to the dead. Post-Museum has been working with/in Bukit Brown since 2011, and this is our largest artwork about it. Due to the amount of space, effort and finances needed to put this up, we are unlikely to show it again in Singapore. So please go see it before it closes. Entry is free and open from 12-7pm at Blk 9 Lock Road 3rd floor (Gillman Barracks). (Friday is 12-9pm). The last day is this Sunday. You would need slightly more than half an hour to watch the VR performances, and walk around to look at the details of the installation. We hope you would get to see Bukit Brown Index #132: Triptych of the Unseen, but if you are staying at home during this period, we understand. Thank you and wishing you good health!
